Imran Khan injured in Pakistan poll rally fall
Leading Pakistani politician Imran Khan has been injured after falling off a makeshift lift that was taking him onto a stage at an election rally in Lahore
One official from his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party told the AFP news agency that he suffered head injuries
TV footage showed supporters carrying a bloodied and dazed Mr Khan from the rally.
Mr Khan has emerged as a serious contender in May's elections, with thousands attending his rallies.
"He has received injuries to his head and he has been taken to hospital," Malik Ishtiaq, a local PTI spokesman told the AFP news agency.
However, another party spokesman said that his injuries were minor.
His former wife Jemima Khan tweeted that "he is in hospital and conscious now".
Correspondents say that Imran Khan and the PTI could prove to be a formidable force in the forthcoming polls
